Terms of Service
Effective October 15, 2026 · 한국어
1. What this service does
Preaching Lab takes the sermon video or recording you send us, transcribes it, and writes you a review of its structure, handling of the text, delivery, and application. As sermons accumulate, we show you how those things have changed over time.
2. What the report is, and what it is not
- The report is a reference to help you prepare. It is not a grade.
- We do not rule on whether a sermon is theologically right or wrong, and we do not substitute for pastoral judgment. Where traditions differ, we look at how well the text supports what was said — not at which tradition is correct.
- A machine read your sermon. It will sometimes be wrong. Every observation is tied to a quote from your own transcript so you can check it.
- The final judgment is always the preacher's.
3. Your sermon belongs to you
You retain all rights in the sermons you send us and in the transcripts and reports we make from them. We process them only as far as producing and storing your report requires. We do not publish them, quote them in marketing, or show them to other users. We do not use your sermons to train AI models, and the vendors listed in our Privacy Policy handle them under terms that prohibit the same.
4. What you may send
Send only sermons you preached yourself, or ones whose preacher has given you permission. You may not send:
- someone else's sermon or video that you have no right to
- material unrelated to preaching
- anything unlawful or that infringes another person's rights
One thing worth pausing on. Sermons often name real people — someone in the hospital, a family in trouble, a request made in confidence. When you send us a recording, that goes with it. Nothing in this service shows your report to your congregation or your board, and Section 3 keeps it that way. But whether it was yours to say from the pulpit in the first place remains your call, not ours.
5. Your account
You sign in with Google, Apple, or Kakao. The account is yours alone. You can delete it at any time, from the app or from a browser, and doing so deletes your reports and transcripts with it — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what goes.
You must be at least 13 years old to use this service. If you violate Section 4 we may suspend access, and we will tell you before we do.
6. Pricing
In Korea the plans are as follows, all prices including VAT. Outside Korea you are charged in your own currency, and the amount is shown before you buy.
Subscription
- Monthly — 17,900 won a month. 5 sermons and 2 sermon manuscripts each month.
- Yearly — 192,000 won charged once a year. That is 16,000 won a month, and you get the same as the monthly plan. You are not billed 16,000 won each month — the twelve months are taken in one charge up front.
Credits
For sending a sermon now and then without subscribing. Credits do not renew and do not expire. A sermon sent with a credit does not come with a manuscript.
- 1 sermon — 4,900 won
- 5 sermons — 19,900 won
- 10 sermons — 34,900 won
When you invite a colleague and they receive their first report, you get one single-sermon credit. It is given, not bought, so it is not refundable and cannot be transferred; when you send a sermon it works exactly like a purchased credit. We may change or withdraw this with prior notice.
All five are sold in every country. In Korea you are charged the won amounts above (VAT included); elsewhere in your own currency. The amount is shown on the checkout screen before you buy.
The price you sign up at is the price for that subscription. If the price list changes later, what you are charged does not change; to change it we follow section 7. We will not retroactively bill you for reports already delivered.
If your first paid report isn't useful
If the first report you get after your first payment isn't useful to you, just tell us before you send a second sermon, and we'll refund that whole payment. We won't ask why.
- Once per account, on your first paid purchase — a credit pack or a subscription, monthly or yearly, all the same. It is the full amount of that payment, not a share of it.
- A report from the free trial doesn't count; this is the first report you receive after paying.
- A refund closes what that payment opened: unused credits from it are removed, and a subscription ends then and there. You may keep the reports you already have.
- If you paid on the web (Polar) or through Google Play, write to hello@preachinglab.cloud. We refund it where you paid.
- If you paid through the App Store, only Apple can issue the refund. We'll walk you through requesting it at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple decides whether to grant it.
Who sells to you
When you pay on the web, wherever you are, the merchant is Polar Software Inc. (USA). As merchant of record Polar charges you, issues the receipt, handles the taxes of your country, and takes care of refunds and card disputes. Polar's terms apply to that transaction. On your card or wallet statement the charge appears as "Polar Software Inc.", not as Preaching Lab — that is this service's charge. We remain responsible for the service itself and for your support.
Inside the app, someone else takes the payment — Apple (App Store) in the iPhone app, Google (Google Play) in the Android app — and that store's terms apply to the transaction. For cancelling and refunds, see Section 8.
- You pay on Polar's checkout screen. Only Polar and its payment processor hold the card details; we never receive them. What we get back is the fact that a payment went through, the plan, the amount and the currency.
- In Korea you can pay with any Korean card and with Kakao Pay, Naver Pay or Samsung Pay. Cards go through a local processor (NICEPAY) and are authenticated in your card issuer's app; you are charged in won, with no currency conversion or foreign-transaction fee. Bank transfer is not available. Subscriptions can be paid by card, Kakao Pay or Naver Pay; Samsung Pay works for one-time purchases such as credits. Outside Korea you pay by international card.
- Polar emails you the receipt. Korean cash receipts and tax invoices are not issued.
- You change your payment method or cancel in Polar's customer portal — "Billing and cancellation" on the billing screen opens it.
When you pay, the first period is charged straight away, and after that on the same day every month on the monthly plan, and once a year on the date you first paid on the yearly one. In a month without that date, it falls on the last day of the month.
7. Automatic renewal and advance notice
A subscription renews and is charged until you cancel — every month on the monthly plan, every year on the yearly one. We tell you the date and the amount before each charge — 10 days ahead. The yearly plan gets the same notice, stating the renewal date and the 192,000 won amount.
- The reminder goes out by app notification and by email. If neither reaches you and you are charged without notice, we will tell you as soon as we know and refund that period in full if you want.
- If we raise the price we tell you 30 days ahead and ask you to agree. If you do not agree, it does not renew and the subscription ends on the last day you have paid for.
- If something free becomes paid we tell you 30 days ahead.
8. Cancelling
Any time, from inside the service. You do not need to write to us, and it does not depend on our office hours.
"Billing and cancellation" on the billing screen opens Polar's customer portal. There, choose "Manage subscription" and then "Cancel subscription".
If you cancel, you keep everything until the last day of the period you have paid for. After that you cannot send new sermons; your past reports and transcripts stay as they are. If you change your mind before then, you can undo it on the same screen.
We will not make cancelling harder than signing up was.
Bought in the app — App Store · Google Play
A subscription or credits bought in the iPhone app through the App Store, or in the Android app through Google Play, are charged by that store. You cancel and ask for refunds there too — the Polar portal above cannot end them.
- App Store — cancel: Apple's guide to cancelling a subscription · refund: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google Play — cancel: Google Play's guide to cancelling · refund: Google Play refunds
Either way you keep everything until the last day of the period you have paid for. Refunds follow that store's policy. If you cannot find the way, write to hello@preachinglab.cloud.
9. Withdrawal and refunds
Within 7 days of paying you may withdraw without giving a reason. If you have already received a report for that period, that part cannot be withdrawn.
The promise in section 6 comes first: if the first report after your first payment isn't useful, tell us before you send a second sermon and we refund that whole payment, even though you have received a report.
Digital content cannot be returned once delivery has begun. A period in which you have received no report at all can be withdrawn within 7 days and refunded in full. Before you buy, you can see what a report looks like from the sample.
Refund on cancelling mid-period
If you stop part-way through a paid period and ask for a refund, we deduct the reports you already received in that period and the days you used, and return the rest. Refunds go back, through Polar, to the card you paid with — never as points or credits.
The yearly plan is no different. Stop after four of the twelve months and we return the remaining eight, less the reports you received. Having paid a year up front does not lock you in.
Credits
Credits you have not used are refunded at the per-sermon price of the pack you bought, at any time. Buy the 5-sermon pack, send two, and we refund the other three. A sermon whose report you have already received is not refundable — that one has been delivered.
If you were charged wrongly
If the amount differs from what we told you, or you were charged without the advance notice in section 7, we refund it in full.
For withdrawal and refunds, write to hello@preachinglab.cloud. Cancelling needs no message — it is on the screen.
For anything bought through the App Store or Google Play, cancelling and refunds work as described in Section 8, "Bought in the app".
10. When a payment fails
If your card is declined we do not close things there and then. You keep access for 7 days past the end of the period you paid for, and within that window Polar retries the charge on its own schedule. If you change the card in Polar's portal it carries on. If the retries all fail the subscription ends. Your past reports stay as they are.
11. Interruption and closure
Maintenance or a fault may take the service down for a while. If we shut it down for good, we will give at least 30 days' notice and keep it running long enough for you to download your reports and transcripts. We will not quietly delete what you left with us.
12. Liability
We provide this service in good faith but do not warrant that a report will match your expectations. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits our liability for our own willful misconduct or gross negligence, or for anything that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13. Changes to these terms
When they change, we revise this page and update the date at the top. Changes that disadvantage you get at least 30 days' notice.
14. Governing law and contact
Preaching Lab is operated from the Republic of Korea, and these terms are governed by Korean law. If a dispute arises we will try to settle it by talking first. Nothing here deprives you of the protections of the consumer laws of the place where you live.
